Every last Sunday of the month EAT holds a free yoga session at The West Side Center For Justice open to everyone. We invite our base of Black informal workers to join us and professional yoga instructor Candyance Jones in this restorative practice. Black and Balanced Yoga was first offered as part of EAT’s Black Wellness initiative that brought holistic wellness practices to communities and groups that ordinarily would have limited access to. Yoga provides a number of benefits for individuals suffering from trauma such as, it helps regulate stress, creates self and body awareness, it calms your nervous system, improves sleep quality and reduces symptoms of PTSD.
